Well We had an exceptionally exciting day on Tuesday Nov 3rd. We were chosen to host the grant announcement from the USDA for beginning farmer rancher development. Dep. Secretary of Agriculture Kathleen Merrigan made the announcement to about 65 people who gathered at our farm for the occasion. We are very excited that congress and the USDA are recognizing the importance of getting more people back on the farm and providing support to those organizations doing the work. Congratulations to Land Stewardship Project, FLAG, and MOSES on the grant monies they received. You can see news footage from the event at KAALTV.com under Beginning Farmer Grants.
Also, exciting for us, is you can now find our pork at Silver Lake Foods in Rochester, MN. I will be demoing on Wed Nov 4 from 4-6 pm.
